Working with Constraints
Since this was a client-led MVP project, I had no direct access to users or behavioral data. All research and feature decisions were based on collaboration with the client, who acted as a subject-matter expert.
To maintain a user-centered approach, I:
Asked targeted questions to extract user behaviors, goals, and pain points from the client's field experience
Created feature logic based on the client's knowledge of how real estate professionals and influencers operate
Identified areas where future user validation and testing would be essential for improving the MVP
Overview
I was brought on as a freelance UX designer to design the end-to-end user experience for a white-label loyalty app targeting local restaurants, smoothie bars, coffee shops, and dessert businesses. The client’s long-term vision was to offer a scalable SaaS platform (similar to Shopify) for hospitality businesses, starting with a refined loyalty and rewards experience.
My role focused entirely on designing the customer-facing experience—from initial discovery through redemption of rewards. This work would later serve as the foundation for pitching the platform to local businesses and expanding the product to a broader white-label SaaS offering.
Project Goals
Design a loyalty app that enables customers to earn, track, and redeem rewards effortlessly.
Create a clean, mobile-first user experience tailored for fast-paced, in-store interactions.
Establish scalable wireframes that support a white-label model across multiple brands.
Align the UX design with a modular microservices backend and future development roadmap.
